The project is slated to end sometime in June
If the bumps and potholes on State Route 91 under the I-480 overpass have been frustrating you, relief is here. The city will start resurfacing the section of SR 91 between the I-480 ramps starting Monday, April 16. The project is scheduled to last until mid-June. Road work will be performed at night -- from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. -- and on weekends to minimize affects to traffic at the I-480 ramps. While the ramps will still be open, turning will be limited and drivers are advised to use the ramps at SR 82 and I-480. Work in the project includes asphalt grinding, concrete base removal, base repairs and resurfacing on 0.17-mile stretch of SR 91. The next big project in a similar area will begin in June, as the city will widen and add left turn …

After an unsuccessful meeting on Oct. 20, city officials want to give a more formal presentation in February
After a public meeting on Oct. 20, Twinsburg residents weren't too excited about the two planned roundabouts on SR 91. That's why the mayor and city council members said at a caucus meeting Monday, they thought it would be best to have another public meeting, with a more formal presentation on the plans, tentitavely planned for February. The plans would widen SR 91 from Post Road north to the Solon city limit and building two modern roundabouts at the Glenwood Drive and Ethans Drive/Meadowood Boulevard intersections. The GPD Group, the engineering firm working on the project, gave a formal presentation during a caucus meeting, which was open to the public, bringing council members up to speed on the project and the comments from the Oct. …

Council will vote on several pieces of legislation tonight on road improvement and construction
As Twinsburg City Council meets one last time before it’s summer recess, the conversation will move once again to road improvements. When they meet tonight at 7 p.m. road discussion will revolve around three pieces of legislation. Two items involve the planned reconstruction of SR 91 from Post Road to the Glenwood Intersection. Municipal Engineer Amy Mohr said the Ohio Department of Transportation has agreed to proposed changes to include construction of a roundabout at the Glenwood Intersection. “This modifies the agreement to allow extra design work,” Mohr said. In February, she said the city wanted to include the Glenwood intersection in the project because of the large amounts of traffic. A study by ODOT revealed constructing a …

Before anymore more money is spent on Engineering Plans for additional roundabouts, I believe it is time to address the threatening game of chicken at the roundabout at Liberty and Glenwood . One inexpensive solution would be to replace the small existing yield signs with large warning YIELD signs. That could send a LOUD message to driver that the roundabout is not their privileged nonstop …   more ›
