A woman dining at Paninis in Twinsburg went outside to find her car had been broken into and her laptop had been stolen, according to a Twinsburg Police report. The woman reported the theft on Dec. 28. She told police that she was leaving Panini's on Darrow Road at about 5:43 p.m. and noticed that a rear passenger window had been broken on her Nissan Rogue and her laptop bag was missing. Inside the bag was an HP laptop valued at $1,050. The window was valued at $400. The area has seen a rash of similar crimes: Cars parked at restaurants having their windows broken out and laptops stolen. Solon has had a half dozen of similar thefts in the past few months.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is looking for information on Toni Smith-Drake, the task force’s fugitive of the week. The U.S. Marshals and the United States Secret Service are both looking for Smith-Drake for a variety of charges, according to a press release from the task force. Smith-Drake is wanted for aggravated identity theft, fraudulent use of someone’s social security number, transportation of stolen property, securities and money, and for forging endorsements on U.S. Treasury Bonds. Allegedly, Smith-Drake—along with the help of others—stole and fraudulently negotiated an elderly female’s U.S. Savings Bonds. They were able to get more than $200,000 from the bonds. The suspects in a string of car break-ins in Twinsburg on Dec. 7 told police that they had rummaged through more than 10 unlocked cars parked in driveways, according to the full police report. Three men -- Joshua Elliott, 21, of Warrensville Heights; Jeremiah Elliott, 20, of Shaker Heights; and Jordan Houston, 19, of Richmond Heights -- have been charged with felony theft and receiving stolen property. Houston was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a misdemeanor, after police found a pair of nunchucks in his car. Three men were arrested and charged in a string of car break-ins when they were found by Twinsburg police hiding inside a car early Friday morning, according to a news release. Charged with felony theft and receiving stolen property were: Joshua Elliott, 21, of Warrensville Heights; Jeremiah Elliott, 20, of Shaker Heights; and Jordan Houston, 19, of Richmond Heights. They were taken to the Twinsburg jail and will be arraigned by video today. A Twinsburg woman had her purse stolen while she was working at a flower shop in Solon, according to Solon Police. The 42-year-old employee of Duffy's Flowers on Aurura Road had her purse stolen from behind the counter while she worked. Officers are investigating the theft, which occured on Nov. 27. Since the purse went missing, there has been some fraudulent activity on the woman's stolen credit cards, according to the police report. The victim said the contents of the purse, including some cash and important documents, were valued at $377.

Twinsburg police stopped a car on Oct. 22 weaving on Darrow Road near Enterprise Parkway. The driver, a 21-year-old Ravenna man, said he was on his way back from a concert, where he had been drinking, and fell asleep while driving. According to police he failed the field sobriety test and was arrested for drunken driving. He blew a .083 on the breathalyzer, just over the legal limit. Man gets a lift in, iPhone gets lifted On Oct. 21 a man reported his iPhone 4S was stolen from the Powerhouse Gym on Ravenna Road. He said he accidentally left it there, but it was gone when he returned. Management said the phone was never turned in. One Twinsburg man was driving along, minding his own business when vandals struck. A Rolling Hills Drive man called police on Oct. 18 to report damage to his car. He told officers he was stopped on Ravenna Road and Glenwood Drive when someone hurled a rock at his car and shattered his front passenger window. More car damage On Oct. 20 a Belleau Drive man for a reported his car was damaged while it was parked in the driveway. The owner said his car was parked overnight when he found damage to the left rear. It looked like someone used a blunt object and struck it, judging by the two dents, about 10 long on the car. Another catalytic converter theft was reported in Twinsburg. On Sept. 6 police were called to Twin Circle Drive after a catalytic converter was stolen off of a Chevrolet Cavalier while it was parked overnight. Either the car's on fire, or the driver is smoking weed An officer following a car on Ravenna Road on Sept. 4 smelled marijuana and saw smoke coming from the car, so he stopped it. Three Streetsboro men were in the car, and the marijuana smell was coming from inside. After a search the officer found marijuana and drug paraphernalia. All men were cited for drug abuse and drug paraphernalia, while the driver was charged with driving while under the influence. A woman living at Arbor Glen went to police on Aug. 16 to report a theft. She told police she believed two diamonds, one carat each and valued at $1,000, were stolen from a pair of earrings in her home. He needed more power On Aug. 13 police were called to a Ravenna Road business for a report of stolen extension cords. The business owner stated that on Aug. 11 a man took the extension cords from the work vehicles parked outside the business. Police reviewed security footage from a nearby business which showed the suspect, his vehicle and the actual theft. Police are investigating the incident. On Aug. 18, at around 1:30 a.m. Twinsburg police were called to a Cannon Road residence for a car accident. According to police, the woman was driving drunk on Cannon Road and took the turn too wide, striking a guardrail, going across the road and hitting a mailbox. The woman was charged with drunken driving and failure to control. More drunken drivers Streetsboro police advised Twinsburg officers of a reckless driver traveling westbound on 480 on Aug. 16. Police found the car and the driver had an open container of alcohol in the center console. After failing field sobriety tests, the Cleveland man was arrested for drunken driving.
