A 34-year-old Twinsburg man was charged with aggravated menacing after he threatened movers with a gun, according to Twinsburg Police. The man's ex-wife was moving out of the house and at about 10 a.m. on May 15 the man threatened the movers with a gun, according to a police report. Officers went to the Alling Drive home and spoke to the people involved and the ex-husband was eventually arrested and charged with aggravated menacing. He was taken to the Solon Jail.

A pitchching machine was stolen from the back lot of the Pinnacle Sports Academy on Ravenna Road in Twinsburg. A manager called the police on April 29 when he caught people who described themselves as "scrappers" trying to remove a pitching machine from the back lot of the sports academy, according to the police report. They were told to leave. But the manager then discovered that a pitching machine was already missing and likely been stolen sometime within the last four days. The machine was valued at $300, according to the police report.

A 44-year-old Northfield woman was caught driving with a suspended license because she was pulled over for windows that were too tinted, according to Twinsburg Police. On April 25, an officer pulled over a 1997 BMW driving on East Aurora Road because the windows were highly tinted. The officer tested the tint and found that it was too tinted, according to the report. The woman's information was run through the database and found that she shouldn't have been driving because her license was suspended and she had an active warrant for another traffic offense, according to the report. The woman was arrested and taken to the Twinsburg jail, and she later posted bail. She will report to Stow Municipal Court on May 3.

A woman told Twinsburg Police that she believes her purse was stolen while she had a doctor's appointment at the Cleveland Clinic facility on Darrow Road. The woman said she was at the facility on the morning of April 15 for an appointment and she left it there. The officer touched base with the hospital and watched security footage and was no able to locate the purse or any leads. The purse was orange in color and contained a number of credit cards, according to the report.

Twinsburg Police Officer Dave Fenske was sworn in again as a deputy U.S. Marshall in the Northeast Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Twinsburg Police Officer Dave Fenske, a 17-year veteran of the force, has served part-time on the U.S. Marshall's Northeast Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force since 2007. Every two years, he is re-sworn in as a deputy United States Marshall. On Thursday, Fenske was re-sworn in by Peter Elliott, U.S. Marshall for the Northern District of Ohio. "We value our partnership with Marshall Elliott," said Police Chief Chris Noga. "The NEOVFTF has helped to take thousands of violent offenders off the streets during its ten years in existence."

Twinsburg Chief Chris Noga said Detective Greg Kopniske will fill the role of the second school resource officer position recently re-instated for the 2013-14 school year. Kopniske is a 23-year member of the Twinsburg Police Department. In the mid-1990s, he served as a full-time DARE officer for the Twinsburg City Schools. He also helped to develop the school resource officer program during that period. Additionally, Kopniske designed, implemented and has administered the department’s juvenile diversion program since its inception over a decade ago, Noga said. A 23-year-old Twinsburg man got in a fight with his girlfriend and then got kicked out of a bar. And things only got worse from there. A Twinsburg police officer on patrol on April 5 was flagged down by an employee of Rush Hour Bar on Ravenna Road. The employee told the officer that he had just removed a man from the bar who had been disruptive and fighting with his girlfriend. The officer checked out the man's information and it turns out he was wanted on a warrant from Macedonia. The man was arrested and taken to the Macedonia jail.

Authorities are still searching for the thief who robbed a Twinsburg pay-day loan business and used a gun to coerce the clerk into handing over money before fleeing with thousands of dollars in March.
Summit County Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for leads that results in the arrest of a man who used a gun to rob a check cashing business on March 6, according to NewsNet5.com. Police describe the robber as "a black male in his late 20's -early 30's, tall and slender, wearing a black hat, a black sweatshirt type jacket, a gray scarf and gray pants" at the time of the robbery. The man pulled a semi-automatic pistol from a plastic bag and told the clerk she would not be hurt so long as she cooperated. The clerk led the burglar to a safe, which contained a "bait pack" of money. But he told the clerk he knew there was more money, and forced her to show him where it was.
