Lady Tigers Have Shot at State Championship 'Three-peat'

Head Coach Julie Solis has Twinsburg primed for another big season with a 5-0 start.

Three straight state titles and an in-state winning streak. Those are two subjects Twinsburg girls basketball coach Julie Solis doesn't have on her mind. "I honestly, and this is the truth, i don' t think about those things," Solis said. Obviously she is still competitive and wants championships and winning streaks, but like all good coaches, she won't give it the time of day. She simply focuses on the next game. "We had a good start and we're just trying to learn how to play with each other," Solis said. "I'm pretty happy." But sitting at 5-0 this season, the Lady Tigers are primed for another run at the state championship and haven't lost a game to an Ohio team in about two years, according to the Plain Dealer. Lady Tigers Have New Identity After Malina Howard

Twinsburg girls basketball coach Julie Solis is looking to a strong group of seniors to step up this season.

Trying to win a third-straight state championship while losing one of the best players in the state would be a challenge for any team.  But if one team could do it, it would be the Twinsburg Lady Tigers. Head Coach Julie Solis is entering the season off to a great start already, leading the Tigers to a 5-0 record. And she's done it without the size of Malina Howard, who is suiting up for the University of Maryland this season. "Malina is a great player and it was great to have her but our identity is a lot different," Solis said. "It makes a difference not having someone who's 6'4"."
