After a five-month sabbatical (sort of), I'm back in Twinsburg!
On Dec. 3, 2012, I was transitioned into a new position with Patch and left the friendly confines of Twinsburg. Fast forward five months and things have changed again. As of Monday, May 20 I am officially back as the local editor of Twinsburg Patch. There's been some shifting around of personnel and I've been reassigned to the wonderful community that I started my career in. Not only that, but I will also be the local editor for Solon Patch. But don't worry, I still love the 'Burg! As for Chris Mazzolini, he has been transitioned to cover the cities of Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights. Thanks for taking good care of him while I was gone. Well, I guess that's enough chit-chat from me. Time to get back in the thick of it and bring you …

Starting Monday, Dec. 3, Mitch Cooper will no longer be the local editor of Twinsburg Patch. But it's not goodbye forever...
Two years ago, I had no idea where Twinsburg even was, let alone how I was going to cover the town inside and out. While there are still many mysteries to be discovered, I feel like I am part of this town; like I grew up here. As of Monday, Dec. 3 I will no longer be the local editor of Twinsburg Patch. I've been chosen to serve the Ohio region in video and sports coverage, so my duties will be much different. Fear not, Twinsburg. You are in capable hands. From now on Chris Mazzolini, the editor of Solon Patch, will be the new editor in Twinsburg. Chris has been in this business for a while and has even mentored me in my last two years. There is no one I would trust more to run this site than him, so you will be well taken care of. This …

As a Kent State alumn, I'm proud of my Golden Flashes football team. But I'm very nervous.
This may be the first time I've shared my thoughts and opinions in a post. But let's be real; this is a monumental occasion. For the first time in school history (OK, since 1973, but it really feels like it) the Kent State Golden Flashes football team was ranked in the Top 25 AP Poll. I graduated from Kent State in 2010, so I have a valid opinion. Even before my years at KSU I followed the Flashes. In all those years, they were dreadful. During my time as a journalism major at Kent, I covered the team as a play-by-play announcer. I can honestly say the most exciting part of doing that was the fact I got to see Ohio State play. (Yeah, the Bucks crushed Kent State). The first-ever game I went to was my freshman year when Minnesota, a Big Ten…

Don't miss the blooper reel from Friday's Twinsburg vs. Solon video.
Yes, your Twinsburg and Solon Patch editors are consummate professionals. But even they can make mistakes. Really, really bad mistakes. Take this video for example. On Thursday Editors Chris Mazzolini (Solon Patch) and Mitch Cooper (Twinsburg Patch) filmed a video to let their audience know of a wager they placed on the Twinsburg vs. Solon football game. Check out this compilation of screwups from the video shoot in the outtakes reel above then watch and compare it to the final product.

But, have I met you? If not, stop by Twinsburg Starbuck's on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m and meet me along with my Ad Manager, Brandon Tidd. I'm always looking for new leads on stories or awesome features. Not to mention, I just love meeting the great people of Twinsburg. And if you're from the business …
