Fallen Officer Miktarian's Widow Rides in Police Unity Tour

Holly Miktarian joined thousands of bicycle riders in New Jersey this week to honor fallen police officers.

In her husband's memory, Holly Miktarian participated in a Police Unity Tour Thursday morning where more than 1,000 participants joined her to raise money for the National Law Enforcement Memorial. The ride began in Morristown, NJ and will end in Washington D.C. at the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial on Sunday. Harry Phillips, the tour's executive director, said in this NJ.com story that the ride aims to raise $1.7 million. Each participant raised at least $1,000. "Everyone coming together for the same cause is just really amazing," Miktarian said at the tour's first rest stop in Morristown.  Josh Miktarian was shot and killed in July 2008. Outpouring of Support Helps Holly Miktarian Reach Fundraising Goal

Twinsburg residents and other supporters ponied up to help Holly Miktarian reach her fundraising goal so she can ride in the Police Unity Tour in support of her late husband, Joshua Miktarian.

A little publicity goes a long way. A day ago, Holly Miktarian was still hundreds of dollars away from her goal to raise $1,000 to join the Police Unity Tour and ride in honor of her late husband, Twinsburg Police officer Joshua Miktarian. Twinsburg Patch posted an item Wednesday morning pointing supporters to Miktarian's donation page. Then Fox 8 News did a story in Wednesday evening's newscast. As of midnight on Wednesday, Miktarian raised $170 and needed another $830. As of this morning, Miktarian had raised $1,370, surpassing her goal. Would you like to donate? Holly Miktarian needs to raise $1,000 to ride in the Police Unity Tour from New Jersey to Washington D.C. this May. She plans to ride in honor of her late husband, Twinsburg Policeman Joshua Miktarian.

Holly Miktarian plans to ride a bicycle from New Jersey to Washington D.C. in honor of her fallen husband, Twinsburg Policeman Joshua Miktarian, and another fallen area officer. Miktarian plans to participate in the Police Unity Tour, a bicycle ride in May that raises money for the National Law Enforcement Memorial in the nation's capital.
