Woman's Car Troubles Lead to Drunken Driving Arrest: The Blotter

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A woman in need got more than she wanted on Nov. 15. Twinsburg police were dispatched to a disabled car on Darrow Road near Enterprise Parkway. Officers found the car in the center lane with its hazard lights flashing. After speaking with the driver police arrested her for drunken driving and was held on $500 bond. Bad driving leads to drunken driving charges On Nov. 18 police stopped a car on I-480 near Laurel Road for a traffic violation. During the stop police arrested and charged the woman for drunken driving and she was released on $500 bond.

Woman Charged With Drunken Driving After Nearly Hitting Police Car

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

What's the easiest way for police to catch a drunken driver? When they almost hit the cop's car. On Nov. 8 at around 6:45 p.m. two Twinsburg police cruisers were stopped in traffic at State Route 82 near Church Street when a car almost hit the rear police car. Officers said they heard screeching tires and saw the car just stop short of the rear cruiser, just missing it, and then pulling around and driving past. Police pulled the car over for the incident. The driver, Ebony Richardson, 34, of Cleveland, said she was looking at her cell phone and didn't see the car in front of her. Police Make Drunken Driving, Drug Arrests: The Blotter

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department.

On Nov. 7 police stopped a car for speeding on State Route 82.  During the stop the driver was arrested for drug abuse and driving under suspension. He was released on $500 bail. The passenger was also cited for drug abuse and released. On Nov. 8 police were told that a driver was swerving all around the road. Officers found the car near Ravenna and Cannon Roads, eventually stopping it near Church Street. The woman, from Illinois, had a strong smell of alcohol on her breath while talking to police, according to the report. She failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested for drunken driving and open container. She was released on $500 bond.

One Car, Four Men, Three Different Arrests

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

Twinsburg police sure had their hands full during a traffic stop on Nov. 4. Officers pulled over a car on I-480 near State Route 91 for weaving. There were four men in the car and each had something they were trying to hide. The front-seat passenger wasn't wearing a seatbelt, but decided to give the wrong identification to officers. They found out quickly and found an active warrant for his arrest once he provided the right information. He was arrested and charged with obstruction. A passenger in the backseat gave police his information, however, it didn't match his picture on the screen and he also had a warrant for his arrest. He gave police the ID for his brother. Man Tells Police He Usually Drives at 190 MPH

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

This guy will readily admit: He has the need for speed. Joseph Emrick, 49, of Windham, was charged with drunken driving and reckless operation after Twinsburg police clocked his car flying down I-480 at 115 mph. While finishing up one traffic stop on Nov. 4 just before 3 a.m. when they were alerted about a car going about 120 mph on the highway. Once police found him they noticed he was weaving across the road and he was still gaining speed. Emrick admitted to speeding and failed field sobriety tests, according to police. However, the biggest shocker to police was what he told them after. While sitting in the back of a cruiser, he told officers that he "regularly travels I-480 at speeds of 160 to 190 mph," according to the report. But he …

Man Charged With Felony After Found With Drugs: The Blotter

The information in this report is from the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A 28-year-old Ravenna man faces a felony drug charge after police found drugs in his car during a traffic stop, according to Twinsburg Police. Zach W. Lipford, 28, of Ravenna, faces charges of felony drug possession, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license, according to the police report. On Oct. 30, a police officer found a disabled car on Enterprise Parkway. Police discovered the driver had a suspended license, and a search of the car uncovered a number of drug items. Police found a dilaudid pill in a plastic bag, a bottle of diazepam, syringes, a spoon with drug residue, a foil pipe and marijuana, according to the report.

Drunken Driving and Stolen iPhone: The Blotter

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department.

Twinsburg police had several drunken driving arrests recently. On Nov. 2 police stopped a car for speeding on State Route 82 near Canyon Falls. The driver was charged with drunken driving after a blood-alcohol level of .17. The driver was released on a $500 bond. On Nov. 4 just before 1 a.m. police stopped a car for not using the correct lanes. The driver was arrested for drunken driving and released on a $500 bond. Lock your locker, please On Nov. 1 a woman came to police reporting her son's iPhone was stolen from an unlocked locker at the Twinsburg Fitness Center. The son said there was no one in the area and didn't know who could have taken it.

Juvenile Busted for Weed During Traffic Stop: The Blotter

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department.

Twinsburg police pulled over a car for speeding on State Route 82 near Commons Boulevard on Oct. 30 at around 11 p.m. During the stop officers found the driver, a juvenile, had marijuana. He was arrested and charged for possession and speeding through juvenile court. The passenger in the car wasn't charged but both were released to their parents. Am I not supposed to do that? On Oct. 31 police stopped a car for a traffic violation on Glenwood Drive. During the stop cops found the driver was driving on a suspended license and had an open alcohol container in the car. He was also wanted on a warrant by another police department. The man was arrested and held on $500 bond.

Police: Man Made 'Obscene Gesture' at Women in Parking Lot

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A Mantua man was charged with disorderly conduct after making an obscene gesture toward a mother and daughter. On Oct. 24 police were called by a woman in the Giant Eagle parking lot. The woman said a man was driving his truck up and down the aisles of the lot and made an "obvious obscene gesture" at her daughter. She said the man was staring at her and "licking his lips" as he drove by. Police found the man's truck with an open can of beer inside, but he was not there. They found Steven Negrich, 21, "staggering" around in the aisles, apparently intoxicated, police said. He denied making any gestures toward the girl but said he did have a beer before. After performing tests, police determined he was drunk. He was arrested and charged with …

Man Goes Raccoon Hunting at a Twinsburg Motel

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department.

It might not be hunting season for raccoons, but one man sure was proud of his fresh kill. On Oct. 27, around 1 p.m. Twinsburg police were called to the Blue Top Motel about a man going door to door showing off a raccoon he had just shot and killed. Officers spoke to the Ravenna Road man, who said he was showing other tenants how he had "taken care of the animal." He then told police he shot it with a 20 gauge shotgun, trying to protect his small dog. The man was charged for discharging a firearm and hunting animals. His weapon was confiscated and he was released with a court summons.
