Twinsburg City Hall is seeking a few good men and women, more like 12, to be exact. City council announced Tuesday night that there are 12 vacancies on boards and commissions that need to be filled. The vacancies include: Council is also looking for additional members to the GlenEagles advisory board from any ward. Applications should be sent to Shannon Collins, clerk of council, by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013. Applications can be emailed to scollins@twinsburg.oh.us or addressed to city hall with Collins name for attention. Applicants should include their ward and the position they are applying for. Mayor, police chief cite safety as main concern.
After talking about it for nearly six years, city officials are hoping to finally remodel the lobby inside city hall. Mayor Katherine Procop said Tuesday that safety is the main concern behind the estimated $35,000 project. "If you go in most city halls, receptionists are behind some kind of glass for protection," Procop said. She added that the city has made safety efforts in the past by locking the back hallways and chambers of city hall. "This is the last area we need to do," Procop said. Police Chief Chris Noga told city council that two officers did a security survey of the building several years back.
