I want to be *led* to new comments, not *search* for them.

ReplyI looked at the SPS Patch.
Where is the counterpart for "What people are saying..."?
It's how I know what recent comments have been posted.

ReplyIt strikes me that Kara Hamley O'Donnell's employment as CH city planner should be mentioned in both her role as blogger and as featured speaker of this event.

That's what the Heights Observer specializes in.

ReplyCompare and contrast to $155.5 MILLION in CH.
You don't have to tell me it's apples and oranges.
Still, something ain't right.

That would mitigate their recklessness *just* a little bit.
But I love the idea... once they have a reasonable plan.

ReplyTonight's meeting doesn't allow citizens to ask questions. Still, why not contact your BOE members and ask them any of these question:
Ask to see details of how the $155.5 MILLION is going to be spent. Plans, drawings, detailed descriptions, justifications, timelines, etc...
Ask if it's wise to spend $100 MILLION on *renovating* a 90 year old high school. And $25 MILLION each on two middle schools.
Ask how much *other* school districts spend on building *new* high schools and middle schools.
Ask how this is going to improve the educating that goes on in the district.
Ask what happens to the acknowledged backlog of needed repairs at the elementaires until they are addressed in "Phase II".
Ask yourself if you really want to vote to raise your own taxes. That's $200 per $100,000 of assessed value. What's your house appraised at?
Ask yourself if you'll vote for the next school operating levy - in 2014. That'll be another $200 per $100,000 of assessed value.
Ask yourself who is going top make sure the $155.5 MILLION is well spent.
Special question for UH residents: Ask what assurances you have that Gearity *won't* follow Wiley, and be closed in "Phase II". Or sooner?
Follow up question to the above: Can you name the BOE members who will make that decision in 7 - 10 years?

Isn't the system disengaging from their relationship with Bellefair?
