Man Charged After Fleeing Police in Car, On Foot

A 42-year-old Berlin Center man was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing police business after he tore off in his car during a traffic stop on May 26.

At around 12:45 a.m. Twinsburg police got a call from a driver going east on I-480 that a car was swerving all over the road.

When police saw the car weaving they pulled it over, but before the officer could approach the window, the man fled.

The chase led to a Streetsboro gas station where the man ditched his car and took off running, only to be caught in a nearby parking lot.

He was also charged with drunken driving, driving under suspension and numerous traffic violations and transported to Solon jail.
